Jaden Caballero is a sophomore shortstop at Division II Mercy College and posted an incredible rookie season as he was named first team All-ECC. He hit .365 with 66 hits, 36 runs, 14 doubles, three triples, three home runs, 28 RBI and 20 stolen bases. Caballero also led team in average, hits, doubles and stolen bases while finishing second on team in runs and third in RBI. He was named the Conference Player of the Week once and was also tabbed the ECC Rookie of the Week three times while starting in all 47 games for the Mavericks.
Caballero graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in the Spring of 2021 and held the highest batting average in two of his three varsity seasons with the Goldbacks. He was a key member of the Section IX Championship team in 2021 as NFA won its first section title since 2005.
